Honoring Maya Angelou

Maya Angelou, the award-winning writer, poet, actress and civil rights activist, left this world today. I found myself immobilized by the news.Thought she has lived a long and rich life, I couldn’t help but hold her as immortal. She is leaving behind her beautiful work, and the love and wisdom she has shared with so many of us.

Her very last Tweeted words were profound… “Listen to yourself and in that quietude you might hear the voice of God.” Maya was 86 and timeless, an advocate, role model, mentor and powerfully feisty and eloquent woman who dared greatly. She stood tall, broke rules, spoke up and defied odds. She was treasure of pain turned to self-love and has invited us all the allow our ‘caged bird to sing.’. A remarkable women who leaves a dark hole in the Universe. I bow in gratitude and will consciously choose to honor Maya’s gifts that act as a trustworthy rudder for my life. She will continue to be an amazing steward for all women. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
